Description
This lesson will be the introduction into the unit plan on Native American identity. In this lesson, students will be taught different definitions of identity, and will evaluate the meanings of identity. Students will then explore identity through the lens of Native Americans, and what they know about Native American tribes. Students will also share their preconceived notions about Native American identity, and will examine how perceptions of Native Americans in US media, are inherently biased, and Native American identity is very diverse.
